My last student holiday's resulted in 100 drawings
I was about 23 years old, the final year of my Landscape Architecture studies at the Pretoria University, South Africa. I knew that getting 2 or 3 month's of holidays wouldnt be happening all that soon again, and decided to do something worthwhile, rather than just drinking beer and smoking. I love looking at these now. Of course back then I thaught that they were absolute masterpieces, but I realize now that they were just part of my development process. There were many other artworks of that era in my life that were destroyed by a fire that flattend my room on our farm is Swavelpoort, just outside Pretoria. Atleast I have been able to produce subsequent works, and sometimes frantically trying to make up what was lost that day. Well, I hope you enjoy these early works, as they show my emotions and turmoil as a young South African Male, caught up in the ambush of Apartheid and stepping into a rather bleak future at that stage. Things certainly have changed since then... Enjoy
